? Profile | Susannah McDougall | Landscape Design | Norfolk

Susannah McDougall is a landscape designer who creates beautiful and timeless gardens. Her elegant, understated designs - whether traditional, romantic, productive or contemporary - have wide and lasting appeal.

Projects include private and public gardens of any size throughout Norfolk as well as Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and London.

She takes inspiration from many sources including the work of Geoffrey Jellicoe, the English C18th landscape movement, painting and the natural landscape. Susannah works with talented craftsmen and landscapers to create gardens which are distinctive for their simplicity, their connection to place, and their rhythmic, atmospheric planting schemes.

After completing a Masters degrees in Landscape Architecture at Greenwich University, Susannah worked with renowned landscape consultancy The Landscape Agency under Patrick James, with landscape designer Alasdair Cameron at The Chelsea Gardener and leading garden designer George Carter in Norfolk.  She also worked as a Landscape Architect with Norwich City Council working on the historic parks, streetscapes and community projects in Norwich. She set up her practice in 2002.

Whilst the majority of Susannah’s projects are private garden commissions, recent work includes a landscape scheme for the award-winning Holkham Studios set within historic parkland of Holkham Estate.
